Had a very good turkey dinner today. Always good food and service.

the food was way to greasy! mashed potatoes are instant. we ordered a bowl of soup and the spoons were dirty! soup was very thick almost like paste.the guy owner is loud and creepy he likes to watch people. the girl owner is ok.the waitstaff is great if your looking waitresses who are drunk or on drugs. the only good thing going is the red headed waitress. very fast and friendly. greats you with a smile and treats you like a person instead of a customer. the parking lot needs work. mens bathrooms were dirty.

Food and service were generally good on two visits, especially for the price. The first visit, it took too long to get a standard Senior special of a quarter chicken and the green beans were probably warmed canned ones. The second visit, the baked cod Friday special was overcooked, tough and fibrous, but I should know by now not to order baked fish in the Midwest. The fried cod would probably have been okay if I peeled off the breading. The service was fast and attentive, and the server held the potato and bread, and also substituted slaw for corn, since I'm diabetic and never eat starches, particularly grain products. Both times, the salads were fresh, but mostly iceberg lettuce, with ¼ small Styrofoam tomato and a smidgen of cucumber. Still, what do you expect with a chicken dark quarter for $7.69?

We stop when we pass that way between La Crosse and Oshkosh. Consistently clean, friendly, and good food for price. A gem!

First time stopping here. Not 4 stars in my opinion. I ordered the center cut pork chops. It was ok but I've had better, even at this price point. They were on the dry side. I had sauteed onions and mushrooms added. The onions could have been cooked a bit more and the mushrooms were canned (fresh is best). For the potatoes choice i selected French fries, overcooked (too crunchy) and a dinner salad, that was fresh. Husband had the chopped steak and he enjoyed that. Said it was cooked right and delicious. Mashed potatoes were "real" and good, as was the barley soup. The waitress brought out some bowls of mixed vegetables that we didn't eat because they were canned (we like fresh). Overall, good quantity for the low price. Waitress was friendly and attentive. Typical diner. We'll try again for breakfast.
